Week 11

This week i continued with my editing and got at least 6 minutes of the doc done so far. I have finished the intro, interview with Ste Algie and the group chat with the gamers. Next week i will be touching bits up and making it looks and sound better.

week 10

WeekThis week we have filmed a group of people from the gaming course to talk about the passions of gaming and other aspects we have also started editing the documentary together and have so far made the inroduction and are playing around with other ideas on how to start the video.

Week 9

We continued to get B-roll footage and structure the beginning of the documentary, we planned to film the gaming tournament next week.

Week 8

This week we captured all the footage that we filmed in the previous week and also done more B-line footage research. We also learnt how to use 'croma key' effect in Final Cut to change the blue screen in the background to another video footage and had a play around with it.

Week 7

Filmed interviews infront of blue screen so we can put B-line footage in the background

Week 6

This week we have learnt techniques on final cut to help make out documentary look more entertaining. By following these techniques it will help out documentary follow the conventions.

Techniques learnt:

• Split screen/ quad screen
• Zooming in on a photograph
• Moving objects in the canvas
• Picture in picture effect

Week 5

Finished the pre-production and now we are ready to film, we just need to decide what we are filming first and also get in touch with a staff member at game station or another gaming shop in Warrington.

Week 4

We have organized our folders and done the pre production work that needed to be done so that when it comes to filming we know what we are filming and where we are doing it, the basic structure of the documentary is coming together and we have an idea of how the into video is going to be. once all the research has been done we will be able to start filming soon.

Week 3

Final idea

We have decided on the final idea, it will be 'the passion of gaming', in this we will show the positives the negatives, addiction and the stereo type behind gamers. At the end of the documentary we will show a tournament between the class to show the passion that people have when playing games.

Week 2

Idea generation week

We have done some idea generation sheets and have narrowed it down to two idea, one of them is a documentary about documentaries, we will show the viewers about the documentaries conventions whilst using them to explain them to get the audience to realize what is happening and how biased it can be. The other idea is going to be a gaming documentary, we we have a few ideas about how we can do this and make it entertaining for the audience and give a reason behind the documentary.
